As the weather has started to get a little better recently, thousands of people all over the world are considering spending a weekend in the garden and getting it ready for the summer. While some will be happy with mowing the lawn and planting a few flowers, others will have more ambitious ideas. This is why I’m going to spend a few minutes today discussing how you can use recycled materials to help cut back on costs and create something truly attractive for yourself, and any guests you may entertain. Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t require a degree in landscaping, and almost anyone could take the ideas I’m about to present and use them to make their garden better.

Over the last few years, I’ve tried out many different design ideas in my own garden, so I’ve managed to learn a thing or two about what works, and what doesn’t. However, while I had to spend a lot of time reading articles online to find the best tips, all you need to do is scan through the information below this paragraph. So, what are you waiting for?

Railway Sleepers

This is probably one of the most common recycled materials we find in gardens around the country today, and there’s a very good reason for this. Railway sleepers are usually very cheap to buy, and they’re perfect for creating a border between different sections of your outdoor space. So, if you like the idea of using these to build steps, flowerbeds or anything else, all you need to do is head down to your local reclaim yard or look online to find a reputable seller. I guarantee this will make your garden appear less cluttered, and everything will know how much effort you’ve put into achieving this.

Reclaimed Steel

Admittedly, some people do feel that having steel beams or artwork in their garden is a little over the top, but so long as you have an artistic temperament, you’ll sure to make it look fantastic. You might want to look at purchasing some Lincoln Electric welding products or something similar to allow you to create a stunning sculpture that will be the envy of all your neighbours. Just don’t make the mistake of having this as a centerpiece in your garden, as that can look a little tacky. Place it somewhere around the outside near to your fence or wall.

Worn Rubber Tires

Whether you plant something in them or hang them from a tree, old car tires are brilliant for your garden. Best of all? So long as you pick the most worn ones available, you’ll probably get them for free. You see, old tires aren’t much use for anything when they’re damaged beyond repair, and so you’ll be doing the planet a favour by using them for something different. Otherwise, they’ll just get send to the disposal unit and burnt with all the others.

So, now you know about some of the cool recycled items you can use to improve the aesthetics in your outdoor space, I hope you’ll be a little more creative and ambitious when it comes to sorting your yard out for the summer.

Enjoy!
