Site very fast today

The site seems very fast today, 28Aug05. I happened to try logging in earlier when the site was offline, and when it came back it seemed the pages were loading very quickly.

Well, just when I had the server tweaked for a bit more speed, my ISP
chooses to go offline. The servers were working fine, it's just that no
one could access them for about 7 hour yesterday afternoon and evening.
Argh!



Actually, it was a problem with Quest, or Baby Bell up here.
Unfortunately our ISP did not have a fallback connection once the Quest
ATM switch went out (not a good idea). I'm not sure there's much
incentive for them either, now that the FCC is deregulating what the
Baby Bells can do with interet access. Double Argh!
