bugs, suspected bugs, or anomolies

Posted by Gregory La Vardera at November 21. 2004

Two things that came up this evening.

Marshall asked me to corroborate that the profile link from a users name in the forum is not working - it returns an insufficient privileges error.

I attempted to upload an FSimage tonight and got errors. It allowed me to create a new FSimage, but failed on the upload of the image itself. If anybody else tries this and has the same experience it would be good to know. Thanks!

On the profile link, we fixed it when you are in a topic, but it is still not working quite right if you are looking at the list of forums or the list of to[pics in any forum. We'll fix this next weekend.

On the images, the images are ow uploading properly to the server, but they are not being displayed. We'll fix this soon, hopefully before this weekend.

i uploaded an image with no problems, but an image that Mark uploaded (that i had in my blog entry) did disappear (he may have done that, i'll check)

The image you added is in a blog, which does not use FSImage (or FSPhoto). (I'm not sure what it uses, whether it is it's own tools or whether it is using the default Plone image tools.) But that explains why your image worked: it's in a blog. Mark may see the same thing, but if not he should let us know here.

FS Images aren't showing up consistently in any of the blogs. In place of the image, it shows the title.

Marshall,

What I'm seeing is that MOST of the images in my folder are not showing up. Some of the ones I uploaded earlier are working, so I'm wondering if they were ones uploaded under the previous stable version of the software, and all new images uploaded under the past bad software are now broken. I'll try to re-upload those same images and see if things get fixed. Will let you know how it goes.

All of the Live Modern forum headings such as Text here, and the headings beneath the phots or 'cameos' of individuals above are coming in to me in Russian, yet my Yahoo browser doesn't even support Russian! Any clues to what is going on? This isn't happening with any other web sites that I go to.

Hi there,

I'm just back from my trip overseas, and will be reviewing the website this week. Are any of the bugs reported in this topic still bugging people? If so, we'll fix them soon.

Marshall

about ever other time I try to access a page I get bad server response. I am using Safari/apple. Are others having this same problem?

Is this the drop down error message tht has a code "1011" with it? If so, I've replicated it. Don't know what that code means (thanks Apple!), but I've passed it along to our programmer.

We tried a procedure yesterday that would fix this and other bugs, but it did not work. So we had to revert to the previous backup.

Here are the bugs that we are trying to resolve:

1. Some people have difficulty registering. They submit their information, and either an error messaqge is returned, or a blank page. I have to manually register people in this case (if they let me know their trouble).

2. Some people get blank pages when clicking on a LiveModern link (most often reported in the forums). Refreshing the page always reveals the right content. However, it is a nuisance.

3. Some people ocassionally see foriegn languages being used in the lables for slots (like the Calendar, Recent Items, etc.) and other areas (like the personalized bar, where the login/logout link is).

The first two are probably related, and that is what we are focusing on. The last one is very infrequent, but unsettling nonetheless when your language is all of a sudden Cyrillic.

Any other bugs that you've seen this month?

Marshall
