Suggestion: Run a server test?

I received the recent email regarding the server upgrade. GREAT news!

Alas, this site is still REALLY slow. The slowest site I visit. It typically takes 30 seconds to connect and load each page, with about 1/3 of the page requests just timing out requiring a reload, and another 30 second wait.

Just an idea...maybe it'd make sense to install a separate stand-alone forum just to run some tests to determine if the culprit is possibly the CMS software that the site is using. Something like PHPBB or the sort.

I really love the content here, but the page loads are excrutatingly slow and makes it very hard to enjoy this site as much as the old one. The drop of in post volume seems to indicate that others may be having the same issue.
