News Items and Events

Editorial Rating:
It used to be that any member could ad a news item or an event on LiveModern by adding it to their own folder. But it turns out that most members never even go into their own folder, let alone discover how to add an event or a news item. So we've changed that.
Now any member can simply click on the green + Add button on either portlet. If you are logged in, a new form will be generated. Fill it out with your news item or event, and save. Once you are ready to publish it, submit it to us and we'll usually approve it the same business day. (Until you submit it to us, no one will be able to read it but you while you write and edit.)
Complete details about adding news items and events are in the support section.
We're also testing the "favorites" feature that we disabled a while ago. Essentially, favorites are a handy way to bookmark pages on LiveModern while you are logged in. If the testing works (we'll know next week), we'll turn it on for all members. In the meantime, if you used favorites when the feature was previously enabled, you'll see your "personal favorites" under the "recent changes" portlet. Note that some of your favorites may no longer work. Click on "More favorites..." and delete the ones that no longer work.
