Hello everybody. I'm new to the forum but from the posts I've read so far, I'm pretty impressed. I recently purchased a 4-unit duplex in Northwest DC and am beginning the process of putting together a renovation team. I plan to offer modernist, ecologically friendly apartment living in the city. I am in search of extremely forward-thinking interior/exterior designers, furniture designers, and a web designer and videographer to help me with this project. The team would be help me to convert the 4 units (all 2br/1 ba) into extremely usable, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing space. I also have a large rear lot which I want my tenants to make maximum usage of. I go to my friends' apartments and I find myself uniformly disgusted by how bland they are. I think this is agreat opportunity to offer a superior concept to people who can't afford to buy (not uncommon in DC) or whose situation won't let them (students, contract workers, drifters). I would further like to follow the renovation with a website and film the progress for submission to all the Home and Garden networks. I have a couple contacts who have agreed to take a look at whatever the finished project becomes. The caveat: I can't really pay that well. I can provide some consideration for time and effort spent, but this has to be done on the cheap, so no one's going to get rich off this. As such, this would be a great opportunity for design students or beginning designers who could use the exposure and edxperience. I will consider providing purchase options to people who would like to work on it if the numbers jibe. If you, or anyone you know would be interested, please have them contact me at faraji@mac.com. Also, if anyone knoiws of any other communities who might be interested, please advise. I will post the URL to the shell website soon. Thanks.
