NOVA / DC

Posted by Emma Caro at May 01. 2005

Greetings everyone!

I'm looking to see if there are communities - or anyone interested in communities for modern pre-fab homes in the NOVA / DC area. Are there enough people with interest in the area to start a MeetUp(.com) perhaps?

Is anyone involved with AIA or the National Building Museum that might have some insight into upcoming speaking engagements on the topic?

I am interested in purchasing a modern pre-fab, and I’m currently looking for about 4 wooded acres to put it on. As locals know, this is no small feat, and I will probably end up with about an hour commute to work -- but for the trees and quiet, I would happily do that.

Finally - hello to all! I was very happy to find this forum this weekend!

Me too! We are hoping that the May show for MK brings enough demand from this area for her to find a factory that will build the Breezehouse.

Any thoughts on the best way to find land in this overcongested area (1/2 acre is fine) without spending over 500K on it!!

I too am interested in building a modern prefab in the NoVa. area...I would be happy with half-to three quarter lots, has this idea ever gone anywhere? I've been looking for land in the area, and all I can come up with is either over priced swamp, or the sheer face of a cliff...
