Mid-century for sale in Falls Church

Posted by Jessica Day at June 02. 2006

Built in 1954 our usonian house sits on almost an acre of land in Falls Church, VA. It is built into the land and surrounded by towering trees providing the ultimate privacy. The kitchen has been remodeled with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and opens into the living and dining room creating a great space for entertaining. A brick and flagstone patio winds around three sides of the house and a hot tub is outside the master bedroom. My husband and I absolutely love our house, but have decided to relocate out west. I thought I'd post it here considering the lack of modern architecture in DC. We also have the original plans which are fun to look at. Below is a link to the realtor's site as well as some photos.

I am not familiar with a usonian style home (although I did Google it and found out some interesting stuff). Can you tell me more about your home and the area? We am currently renting in Fairfax and looking to buy a home soon, but everything is to McMansiony looking or too boring. You home sounds a lot more unique and in tune with our lifestyle.

Thanks
