Hi,
I have a variety of pieces from Grandma's, yard sales, ebay, neighbors, etc., that really need refinishing. Among them are a beautiful Baumritter/Ethan Allen very modern desk (x-leg), with chair, a coffee table and two side tables, Fin Juhl chairs, Plycraft lounge chair, and a Warren platner side year. Any suggestions for a good, relatively reasonable refinishers and reupholsters for all this special blond wood? The Warren Platner side chair was picked up for $25 on ebay. I've tried everything to cut the rust, from naval jelley and sanding...it's not a job for me...and I don't know where to start!
Thanks!
Ann (from her Francis Lethbridge designed Levitttownesque home in Forest Glen.)
For the rust you could try:

I've never used it but their before/after photos are impressive. You would probably have to get it painted, powder coated, or chromed once its cleaned up.
