A local restaurant needed a rear stair for egress into an urban alley. Since the site is very visible from a one way public street, our goal was to make a striking sculptural form that reads like a silhouette against the existing white painted brick wall. The entire stair is made of steel plate folded or welded together to create an appealing visual expression in Black and White. We explored the relationship of point, line, plane, and volume. It was custom designed in one week by Enteros Design and fabricated by a local welder, delivered to the site, carefully positioned, shimmed, and bolted into place. Josh McCullar
