alsco building - very cool - anyone know the history or architect?

i heard it won some awards in the 60s.  reception doesn't look like its changed a bit!

i love the buildings on south temple.  the alsco is one of my favourites in the whole city.  also, if you go one block north, one can find one of the most impressive buildings this city has to offer - the lds church office building.  oh how i wish it was condos.
