Looking for some bamboo (or other unique) material to make a custom mantle and bookshelf out of. Anyone know of any local distributors/carriers of said woods?
We combed the city and burbs for it this summer for the walls of our little studio. Scherer Bros. finally found it but the supplier wouldn't do special orders - would only ship by the truckload. No one stocks it yet here. booo! We ended up with birch.

Nice find, Darren. Doesn't look like they do consumer retail, though, but will give them a call this week!
Not sure if you area still looking for bamboo, but we recently did a kitchen cabinet job with bamboo and we could find the supplier if you were still interested.
