Sunset Hills teardown update

Posted by Nathan Wilber at September 25. 2006

Though not a typical read for me, the Sept/Oct issue of At Home St. Louis magazine has an article featuring the Sunset Hills teardown mentioned on previous postings. I was somewhat surprised to see anything like this in this magazine and it was brought to my attention by a friend who had driven past this house with me just a couple of weeks ago. Is it possible that issues like this are gaining some voice in St. Louis? I'm not holding my breath, but maybe it is a start.
The article features three pretty good photos of the home with a brief summary of its history and recent fate. As the article states, it may be too late to save this home and to consider the article a eulogy. How grim. Regardless I did find it interesting to say the least and thought everyone might like the info. I know I wouldn't have cought this article otherwise.

I think At Home STL is starting to broaden their scope and incorporate random bits of modern here and there. Last month they ran an article about a new developement of 7 modern homes in Town and Country. These homes are going to start at 2.2 million. Though way out of my price range it's good to see new modern construction!
