New to SC - Just Saying Hi

Hi Brian,

I recently relocated to coastal SC from NJ. I actually lived pretty close to Greg LaVardera the NJ architecht that's active on this site. I'm still hoping to do something with one of his designs once I get the right piece of property here in the Grand Strand. I've gotten involved in real estate and financial planning here so hopefully I'll spot the right piece of property soon enough. Please feel free to drop me a line if you ever want to talk Modern stuff.

Hello from Charleston. My family and I moved here in December after leaving New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina. I host the NOLA Modern forum but am anxious to travel around SC and continue my search for all things green and modern! Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Charleston is beautiful. I hear they finally found a new site for that controversial modern building that Clemson wants to put up downtown.

I hope to have something to share with you soon -- a small development some my friends and I are working on in Columbia -- that will be green *and* modern!

Just saying hi. I moved here last year from the northeast and while house shopping was lucky to find a very modern home from the late 80s. Very unique architecture, owner designed and built. Needs a bit of cosmetic updating, but it suits our family's needs and aesthetics in many ways. Otherwise we would have been in the market for building a very modern home or doing a very modern conversion of something downtown Columbia, but we were worried not to be able to find a builder with enough experience in modern ways. Brian, I recognized your e.m. handle from urban planet... Lets hope there will be more activity here soon.
