Modern quot;Greenquot; spec house in Phinney Ridge

Posted by Jim Burton at June 19. 2005

Anyone interested in a modern, Built-Green certified home might want to see this one that's currently on the market.

The house was a major remodel with second story addition, now 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths. It has radiant floor heat, heat recovery ventilation, FSC certified lumber plywood cabinetry, reclaimed wood beams and posts, rain-screen siding, wheatboard and Marmoleum flooring, Paperstone countertops, low VOC paint and finishes, etc.

The address is 547 North 68th Street - more information can be found on my website - look under Phinney House.

This is a nice house Jim. I applaud you for going against the McMansion trend in Seattle!

I checked out this house in person last night, very nice!

Nicer in person than the pics, which certainly isn't always the case :)

Not sure they've got the price right yet, but I don't really know that neighborhood too well.

Where are the capitol hill houses you designed?

Daryn-

I answered your question about the Capitol Hill home in the Topic Home in DWELL that is listed in this forum...here is your answer though:

Broadway turns to 10th Ave. E. Take a right on E. Boston to 14th (I believe). Take a right on 14th. It's the street right before the road veers to the right. The house is on the Left or East side of the street. The house was designed by Jim Burton of Blip Design.
