I say there are never too many modern house blogs - bring it on!
I must say though, the white type on black background is making my eyes splode.
I'll try to add a hot link here:

My wife and I bought a “tiny” house in West Seattle in November. With an 18 month old running around 550 sf is a bit small for us, we moved from an 820 sf apartment so it’s been an adjustment. We will be on a tight budget as well and doing most of the work ourselves once we get started. We have met most of our neighbors and they are all great. Like you, I have wondered how things will go once we start introducing a modern house into our neighborhood. We have gotten several comments about our “cute” house that is complete with the white picket fence. I will definitely be following your blog to see how things are progressing. I might be good for hammering a nail or two as well if you need the help.

It all sounds good. Where are these places in West Seattle? I'd love to drive by and see the progress being made.
We bought a 1956 West Seattle house in a very '50s neighborhood and have been remodeling/updating it for a few months with only a few weeks left to go now. We've tried staying time sensitive and also incorporate some green principles during the process. It's not always easy explaining anything modern to a city that loves the Craftsman style so much. Luckily, our neighbors are interested in the project, hoping to get ideas for their places!
outlinestudio,
Great blog. You have an AMAZING site and two beautiful kids!
Building is hard. Doing it with small children is comical, if not insane.
I certainly agree with you! I only have one child, who just turned two, but it is crazy. Managing his day-to-day and long term needs is difficult amidst all the chaos.
Good luck with your house; it will be great.
