slipping house

We are considering purchasing a modern home in Portland Heights constructed on a hill. We had a Geo Tech look at it who came to the conclusing that half the house has slipped 2-3 inches. I'm not concerned about the house falling out from under us, but am worried about resale. Is this common in the West Hills? Does anyone know anything about this? Any input would certainly be aprreciated. tkc

Depending on of course many factors, I think this should be a bit of a concern as at some point it could require foundation shoring up...even new foundation piers (geopiers) or the like. I certainly would talk to your real estate agent, or one who specializes in the West Hills and verify just how common this is. Good luck!
