Oklahoma and modern...oxymoron?

Posted by Bunnie White at January 10. 2006

I think not. There are many homes here that are spectacular in design. The oil industry brought in the money, and those oilmen hired the best of the best. We have a great FLW in Westhope...and many other streamline modern structures. Lortondale was an entire neighborhood of brat pack modernism. Modern homes are here, but hidden.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to last through the remodel.

I am attempting to do my part and remodel a jem that I see has modern lines. The finish work leans more towards a lodge style. But I think once removed, I can enjoy the contemporary lines hidden beneath.

Any local hands available for this project?

My end result I hope to see a clean minimalist look with a few of midcentury modernism touches for impact.
