Radiant Barriers

I just purchased a mid-century modern in the Dallas area and was wondering how effective, if any, a radiant barrier would be with such a small attic space. I'm not sure if the attic covers the entire house or just the areas w/out the pitched roof and exposed beams. Please give me your thoughts and suggestions.

How small is artic space? Usually in in such spaces if I imagine that as you say yours is small... then radiant barriers have very little if effeicancy
