... on a personal note, our Lakeview home has been torn down. While many see our photos and are just beginning to understand the magnitude of the loss, we are choosing to look at it as a beautiful blank slate as to what our city can become. I am busy drawing up plans to rebuild using green materials with a respectful nod to our city's past and future. Picture a courtyard home with solar panels on the roof! My family and I welcome any thoughts or ideas that can add to the rebuilding process. For those who have not yet experienced a NOLA home through its whole life and death phase, I hope our picutures are helpful to give you an idea of the process. God help me, even this far in, and knowing what I know, all I can hope for is to return to NOLA by my 40th birthday in two years (the old plan was to climb Mt. Kilamanjaro, but something tells me this will be rougher and far more fulfilling...)
Keep us in your prayers, Jules

Thanks for the uplifting words though Mr. La Vardera! It's a slow road, but one that leads my family back home...
