Is anyone else going to the open house this weekend (6/30-7/1)? I'm sure it will pretty interesting. Here is a link in case anyone hasn't heard about it yet: http://www.dwell.com/homes/dwellhomes/7469097.html
I definitely enjoyed it. It would have been a shame to miss an event like this when it was so close. I have to say, the NextHouse is my least favorite of the three Dwell Homes in overall appearance. It looked much better in person than the close-up shots on the Dwell NextHouse blog. I was more convinced of the design's concept after listening to the architect's lecture. My favorite parts of the house were the great room and the master suite. The master suite did such a good job of offering privacy while still maintaining flow and a sense of openness. The loft in the master suite was such a neat space.
I hope to see more projects like this in the South.
I went on Sunday and found Dwell/Empyrean's planning & organization very well done. Didn't go to the other Pittsboro Dwell house- but heard this was as or more crowded.
I was hot & cold on the house. The living/dining space & kitchen were nice- I wasn't sold on the master suite/ I thought the master bath was laughable for modern/'green'- let alone a spec/or prototype house. With 14+ acres that 2-level window wall in front of the tub could have been a little less exposed (pun intended).
Also for the price $270/SF!- the interior detailing could have been tighter- the outside/windows/siding, etc. were more well resolved and finished.
Anyone ever know what happened with the development the first dwell guy was putting together, Henley. No updates as to if/when a Rapson house is going to be built? That would be a great Triangle open house opportunity.

Nathan Wieler has a blog somewhere on which I read he sold all the lots at Henley but kept one for himself and is building a Rapson on it. I've got it in my head that this was to begin this summer but I'm not sure where I read it.
I'd think it would be on his site www.wieler.com
