The house has sold, still pending closing. There is no reason to believe that it won't close. The real estate agent tried to convince my parents that they should reside this house with vinyl, because no one will buy a house with natural wood siding (redwood). Also the agent tried to get my parents to reduce the price of the house prior to putting it on the market. He didn't beleive anyone would really want a house that looks like this one does. In the end this house sold very quickly, the agent has not previously sold a house this fast plus it sold for near full asking price. Also the buyer grew up in the neighborhood and had previous restored a farm house that was unoccupied for more than 20 years. So it looks like the house will be in caring hands. My parents are happy with the sale of a house that my father built about 40 years ago.

You have to remember that Real Estate Agents are idiots (sorry but it is true). They make money on a sale so they want to freak you out and sell (even if YOU lose money). Even the agents that represent you as a buyer are idiots. They make commision from the sale so the MORE you spend the more they make (so they want you to pay more, they dont care about you saving money). It is a funny business. You cant really blame the agents though, they only have 3-12 hours of education before they get qualified/certified. I suppose that isnt enough time for an ethics course.
