Ceiling ideas

Posted by chad brock at June 01. 2006

We're in the process of building a carriage house that has a roof top deck. The roof has a small amount of flex and the builder is concerned that over time the the joints of a sheet rock ceiling will crack. Are there some ceiling cladding alternatives to sheetrock that may tolerate some movement?

A Drop Ceiling would work. Like you see in offices. There are some cool ceiling tiles available, just not at Home Depot.

How about good old wood? A nice clear wood that you can leave natural or stain any color you like. Just say no to knotty pine.

Those stretch ceilings look good! They seem to be a perfect solution to easily hide the ugly popcorn ceilings we have in our Florida home. This isn't my thread, but thanks for the link, Ilona!
