Alternative Wall Finishes

Posted by Hendry at July 12. 2006

I do not want to carry big, heavy sheets of drywall into my basement… So I am looking for some suggestions for alternative wall finishes (materials and methods) maybe fabric? Maybe small-ish plywood panels? Other ideas?

Could try Hardibacker or Wonderboard. I believe they come in 3x4 sheets at varying thicknesses.

I saw these at the ICFF show- very light weight and paintable:

don't know how they would fare if basement gets damp.
