I'm looking for someone to rip out linoleum flooring and expose the concrete thats been hidden for over 40 years; using their knowledge and expertizes, I would like for them to transform it into a trendy flooring. The room is 20 feet square. I live in Los Angeles, near LAX.

I had concrete floors stained in the 2,269 1970s home I've just finished. It looks awful. They didn't slurry the carpet tack holes properly, they left glue in the areas that had vinyl and the stain did some peculir things in some areas meaning it left spots that look as if one of my dogs had an accident and I didn't clean it up.
I love the look of the floors and they are easy to maintain, but know your contractor and be preparred for it NOT to look like the brochures. I'm putting my house on the market and I'm sure the floors will become an issue. I actually like them but I will say they are hard on the body - there is no give as you can guess and I find that I walk around in heavy duty flip flops or tennis shoes.
I obvioulsy have a love/hate relationship with these floors and if the contractor had done a better job perhaps I would feel differently. You can always paint or carpet over them if you don't like the look. Bbob
