modern barn door hardware

Im looking for modern exposed or valanced rail barn door hardware. I work with a firm in Los Angeles loprestigallery.com and we rep MWE track systems through bartels but I have clients looking for something with a shorter lead time that is less expensive. If anyone knows of any similar products out there it would be much appreciated.

There was a person here in the forums a while back that posted a thread called "My Barn Door" You should be able to find it pretty easily - I think it was here in the Modern Materials and Methods forum. I think he said he used harward from McMaster-Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/ (sliding door hardware starts on page 2753 of the catalog and goes on for a few pages, based on what material you want. Central Tractor Supply also has them. These are the most industrial - less "high end" tracks and hangers. Looks like you've got a few sources to go with now. Thanks.

Man I wish I had a money tree. Those Bartels are beautiful. I think got a quote for those from a door company in LA. Over $11K for the 7 doors we are changing. Ouch.

the johnson stuff they sell on amazon, but a bit cheaper than on their own site. Tons of different sizes and all.

yeah, i was the one that made a barn door for my basement. i had a pic or two on the my barn door thread if that would come close to what you need.

I bought my stuff at Menards. Might have to ask around for it, it was next to the roofing and metal barn stuff. pretty cheap, most other places like tractor supply was a lot more expensive. menards is a midwest hardware store like lowe's or home depot. those places really didn't have what I needed.

Yes, it's Tractor Supply - the "Central" must have been added locally as in - there must be more than one. The barn door hardware is here http://www.mytscstore.com/detail.asp?pcID=2=590 The track is on this page and the hangers are on page 2 at this link. It's in the "Home Improvement" tab at the top and the Building Hardward section in the left margin. I found some pieces at tractor supply to be more than McMaster-Carr, but some a lot more expensive too. We don't have Menard's here in Cincinnati, so I'll probably order online from McMaster-Carr. My dad is a plant supervisor and does purchasing for a large factory - he loves McMaster-Carr. Their catalog is really cumbersome though - like I said, the hardware I'm looking at is on page 2753. I'm also going to get some stainless steel handrail parts for my cable rail system. McMaster seems to have everything. Anyway, good luck and post some pics when you're done.
