this is the same issue I am running into — UV rating for 30lb felt.

UV rating for 30lb felt = BAD. That's why it's always covered by roofing. As I mentioned in another post about rainscreens, if you are going to do it, you really need to look into VaproShield's products. They are designed for rainscreen applications.

I've been looking at the Home Slicker products lately and wondering if they would be a good fit for this type of application without the need for furring strips. It's probably pricier but should save in labor quite a bit. The product is yellow so it does not solve the problem of needing a UV resistant black under layer for exposed seams. Vaproshield seems to have some nice products as well.
