Alternative Gutter Guard materials

Posted by Sydney Pro at September 16. 2012

Hi, I am a gutter cleaner in Sydney. We spend a lot of time installing gutter guards, and I was wondering if anyone has heard of any alternative gutter guard materials. we are using polyethylene products at the moment. But I am keen to see if anyone has been using any eco friendly materials. Thanks for any suggestions.

Ok here is an update. I have been doing ongoing research, and it seems that I have found an answer.

The four main types of Gutter Guardsin Australia plastic, nylon, aluminium and mesh (UV stabilized polyethylene).

The plastic and nylon are rubbish, they warp and bend and do not last (and are rubbish for the environment).

From my research both the aluminium and polyethylene gutter guards are %100 recyclable.

But I have still not found any gutter guards made from really sustainable sources. I would love to see someone make some out of bamboo, or something like that, as I am sure that there is a market for that.
