metal fascia and visible seams

Posted by JPS at January 08. 2014

Hello -

I am working on a modern home project now where we are wanting to use metal fascia as trim on an overhang. The overhang has a flat roof and projects out from the house 36" and is 32' long. The contractor is advising us that the metal fascia trim is only available in smaller lengths (I believe he said 8' or 10') and therefore there will be visible seams. I am wondering if anyone has dealt with this condition before and if there are any alternatives so we have one continuous peace of trim with no seams? Or if there is a way to not see the seams? I went and looked on Houzz.com and noticed that most of the homes with this detail all have the seams I had just never noticed them before now. Thanks in advance for any helpful tips, much appreciated.

JP

PS: The attached image is an example of the metal fascia where the seams are visible.
