There are a number of options available in the market, right from Home Stores, At Homes, Furniture Bazzars, Home Points, local Carpenter Stores, the omnipresent Ply-Stores and much more. And any new home buyer wanting to design his/her new home will get lost in the labyrinth of information.
A good architect and interior designer can assist you in selecting the best material. But before that, I was advised on the following points:
1.Making a budget
2.Identifying the style of wood work  wish to have
3.Short listing most reliable places in Bangalore where I can buy the material
To make the budget, I need to identify the various elements that go into making this woodwork a good work. Here is a broad set to be considered,
1.The body
2.The Shutters – For wardrobe, kitchen cabinets, etc.
3.The hardware
4.Accessories like steel, tie hangers, trays, etc.
Once identified and elaborately listed, I can get an approximate budget from your short list of most reliable places in Bangalore.
And while I get the above stuff going…I can check out the Waterproof Marine Ply. It might cost me 20-25 % more but it will last longer than the 3 year lifespan of other stuff like Water Resistant Ply, Laminated Particle Board, etc… It acts as good base for the entire weight of kitchen Hardware, Drawer Channels, Kitchenware, Wall units etc. and stays good even in the worst of moisture conditions.
