2300 sq foot home - 20 windows 4 sets of double french doors. First quote in today on replacing existing windowsw.. 37k. If I want floor to ceiling windows on 9 of the windows (facing back yard) price jumps to 69k. Does that make sense or seem reasonable? I have no idea having never bought windows before. I have another bid coming in two weeks.
That sounds reasonable (the first number at least). Hurricane rated windows with IG will drastically increase the price of windows. Sometimes twice as much. What kind of windows are you spec'ing? Vinyl/Aluminum/Clad? That will affect the price as well. Depending on your local codes, you may be able to get away with having cut and numbered sheets of plywood at your property.
