Eichler Homes and the like...

I discovered a gallery of Eichler homes today and am falling in love with the style, mainly the use of atriums in the floorplans. Some of these designs are awesome! These homes look like their own private vacations or retreats. I can't describe it...they look so simple from the outside, but once in the door there seems to be a lot going on. They also seem secluded, yet open. And at the risk of sounding cliche, the blend of indoor and outdoor areas is almost seamless with some of them. This particular model is a case in point:

It's amazing that these were just regular neighborhood homes at one time. There's tons of pictures on this link, but beware, the interior decor by some of the owners is downright frightening.

I dig the ultra-modern industrial loft look a lot, but more and more I find myself drawn towards MCMs. I think it's the blending of indoor-outdoor living areas that they seem to do so well. I think that's why like Mark's courtHOUSE design so much. It reminds me a bit of that type of style.
Noticed that using the feature to add links seems to have resulted in everything and the kitchen sink being thrown in. There also doesn't seem to be an ability to self-edit posts that I can tell. Unfortunate. So...I guess just copy and paste the link text to a new browser window to view the pages.
Or perhaps a mod can fix them for me? Pretty please?
You're house is awesome! I love your backyard! So far that I've seen, my favorite Eichlers are the ones like yours and the one I posted, with the fireplace on the back wall with walls of glass on either side.
As for energy efficiency it'd be nice to achieve the same sort of design spirit but using modern methods to achieve maximum energy savings.
