CB2

I got this catalog in the mail the other day for CB2- a new Crate and Barrel destination.

It is currently a catalog/ online store. It is more modern and seems less expensive than the normal Crate and Barrel lines. Although, I'm not a fan of ordering a sofa online there are some cool things in there.

Anyone heard of this or used it yet?

I've been to the store. i think there are only two, both in chicago or close suburb. the one i went to wasn't very big, but there was a lot of stuff.

the sofa's did seem sort of comfortable and they had a lot of neat stuff, but a lot of it was bright orange and green and might have been too over the top for even me. definitely more modern than crate and barrel.

didn't actually buy anything there, although some of the rugs were tempting as they were about half off. some of it still seemed expensive, but i think a little less than crate and barrel generally.

Bought a bed from them on the internet. Very happy with it. They delivered it to my house, put it together... very nice!

Inexpensive, but I am happy with the quality.

We've bought smaller stuff online from CB2 and are very pleased with the products. The new catalog items are fabulous!

The stores in Chicago are worth a stop if you are in town. The Lincoln Ave location is larger, but I think they actually have comparable selections. We bought the downtown rug on sale a while back and I've been really pleased with it. It pills a little now and then, but is thick and soft, and nice and muted. Beats something from Target or Lowes or IKEA without costing an arm and a leg.

The rest of the stuff is pretty much what you would expect -- a step up in both price and quality from IKEA or West Elm (actually seems to be MUCH better quality than West Elm) but not yet in the DWR realm. As with anyplace, some of it's better than other stuff, just check it out thoroughly before you buy.

Great looking stuff, and good variety too.

I just got my catalog in the mail yesterday and I love it! It has some really great stuff in it. I'm a CB fan anyway... But this is even better. I finally found the perfect sofa...The Shelter Sofa, high arms, no loose back or seat cushions. Yeah, that's perfection!

Maybe they'll expand their retail locations now?
