Hi Josh,
Looks great, I really like your stainless accents on the drawers. How long did it take for the actual istallation of the cabinets and were you satisfied with the quality of what was delivered. I ask because I have designer putting together a KM package for me and i just read on an another forum about some pretty unhappy people. They ordered theirs through HDepot. I am getting mine through a small cabinet/kitchen shop. I have heard, although I really do not know if this is true, that the big box stores can get sometimes inferior quality stuff. More mass produced for their demands? Anyway nice kitchen congrats.

I find it hard to believe that the products from Home Depot would be any different from a smaller cabinet supplier. I do know that some manufactures do do this(welders for example)but I can't see cabinet manufactures doing anything different for big box stores.
I actually went to lowes, got a quote, brought the quote to my local cabinet store, and told them I would buy through them if they beat the price. They did.
Concerning quality of the cabinets, I am satisfied with them but it was a LONG road. Here is my story; Kraftmaid forget to send me certain cabinets, sent wrong cabinets, and sent doors that needed to be returned because of poor quality. It was a total disaster. I would get new cabinet doors and the veneer color would be WAY off so I had to send them back again. Probably half of the doors you see in my kitchen have been replaced. Some of the doors where dinged, some of the veneer was very match-booked where you could see individual stripes of veneer, and some of the doors were just way off in color. It was a mess!
However, I honestly believe my situation was because I ordered these cabinets when the Venecia line first came out. I think I was one of the ginuea pigs. Would I do it again? Yes. The reason is because of money savings. I had this same EXACT kitchen(same cabinet and door construction) priced out using WoodMode cabinets and it would of cost twice as much. To me, the Venecia line is a great value, and after all is said and done, I love my kitchen.
To answer your question, it only took a couple of days for myself and one contractor to install the cabinets.
FYI, all the stainless A drawer fronts are not Venecia. They are from http://www.lasertrondirect.com AWESOME quality and a great price.
TTT for a great looking kitchen

J--I am very curious about the cost breakdown. The house we are about the build has about a 12x10 kitchen with a working/eating island too. $10k is a little bit less than the cabinetry thumbnail our builder has been using in discussions with us. His wholesaler is one of the best custom cabinetry guysin Washington State, but we don't want custom. We want builder's stock kraftmaid or even ikea, thinking either will bring us down in price enough that we can afford much better appliances and stay in-budget.
So this morning I saw aLowes circular pricing kraftmaid Venecia at $180 a linear foot and about $3500 for a 10X10 kitchen. The ikea Nexus kitchen (similar appearance to Venecia) is priced at about $1700 for the same sized kitchen. For the latter, I would purchase, deliver, and construct and the builder would install. These prices are surprisingly lower than yours and much lower than my builder will estimate for our lending paperwork for construction lending. So what gives?
Is your 10k an installed price? Did the lasertron stuff drive price up? The latter stuff looks really good, by the way, so thanks for the source. Their site is cool although some of their all-stainless kitchens are kinda funny, over-the-top.
Thanks for posting your link and for a great kitchen inspiration!

Wow, I missed this the first time around. That's a beautiful kitchen, and it's good to know someone that actually ordered from Lasertron -- I looked at them in the past but couldn't find anyone that had bought from them.
David,
I'm not sure about your quote. The 10k was for all the cabinets from Kraftmaid. If you look at my kitchen, i've got a lot of cabinets in a small space. Also those horizantal cabinets with the glass door were expensive. For example, the 36 x 15 with glass door was $681.00 each. Other big ticket items was the blind base cabinet ($719.00) and the end pantry ($671.00) These are all prices from my local cabinet dealer which was the same or less than Lowes. Hope this helps.

I have to agree that The Kraftmaid Venicia line is good value for money. We put them in our bathrooms since we did custom french cabinets imported from China for our kitchen. The Pianor cabinets were about identical in price and quality to Ikea, which are very good. The Venicia cabinets seemed a little more heavy duty and had more support. I also liked that they came fully assembled so it was just a drop-in install.
Yours look awesome! We just got melamine Marco cabinets in white so no issues there. I didn't like that they charged extra for Blum Blumotion hardware, they do give you the best Blum kit, a step above Ikea and Pianor, but they do charge a lot for the upgrade.
