TTT for a great looking kitchen
!!!
J--I am very curious about the cost breakdown. The house we are about the build has about a 12x10 kitchen with a working/eating island too. $10k is a little bit less than the cabinetry thumbnail our builder has been using in discussions with us. His wholesaler is one of the best custom cabinetry guysin Washington State, but we don't want custom. We want builder's stock kraftmaid or even ikea, thinking either will bring us down in price enough that we can afford much better appliances and stay in-budget.
So this morning I saw aLowes circular pricing kraftmaid Venecia at $180 a linear foot and about $3500 for a 10X10 kitchen. The ikea Nexus kitchen (similar appearance to Venecia) is priced at about $1700 for the same sized kitchen. For the latter, I would purchase, deliver, and construct and the builder would install. These prices are surprisingly lower than yours and much lower than my builder will estimate for our lending paperwork for construction lending. So what gives?
Is your 10k an installed price? Did the lasertron stuff drive price up? The latter stuff looks really good, by the way, so thanks for the source. Their site is cool although some of their all-stainless kitchens are kinda funny, over-the-top.
Thanks for posting your link and for a great kitchen inspiration!

Wow, I missed this the first time around. That's a beautiful kitchen, and it's good to know someone that actually ordered from Lasertron -- I looked at them in the past but couldn't find anyone that had bought from them.
David,
I'm not sure about your quote. The 10k was for all the cabinets from Kraftmaid. If you look at my kitchen, i've got a lot of cabinets in a small space. Also those horizantal cabinets with the glass door were expensive. For example, the 36 x 15 with glass door was $681.00 each. Other big ticket items was the blind base cabinet ($719.00) and the end pantry ($671.00) These are all prices from my local cabinet dealer which was the same or less than Lowes. Hope this helps.

I have to agree that The Kraftmaid Venicia line is good value for money. We put them in our bathrooms since we did custom french cabinets imported from China for our kitchen. The Pianor cabinets were about identical in price and quality to Ikea, which are very good. The Venicia cabinets seemed a little more heavy duty and had more support. I also liked that they came fully assembled so it was just a drop-in install.
Yours look awesome! We just got melamine Marco cabinets in white so no issues there. I didn't like that they charged extra for Blum Blumotion hardware, they do give you the best Blum kit, a step above Ikea and Pianor, but they do charge a lot for the upgrade.
