Cant seem to find any good sources for backsplash tile. I've attached a picture of what I'm looking for. It is a horizontal type tile, probably around 1x3?? Love the color too. Any good online places?
That's a Zen Blend by Erin Adams available at Ann Sacks. Very expensive. But beautiful. It was the inspiration for my approximation of the look for my own backsplash--used Sicis transparent 1/2 tile and cut it in units of four and arranged it in a very subtle horizontal quilt pattern...but the Zen Blend is really gorgeous.

Thank you!!! Gotta love these forums. But wow, $85 per square foot. I guess I'll be taking your route of using it as inspiration. Where did you get your Sicis tile? Got a link or pic?
Yes, we have good taste, don't we?
Back in reality, the only reason I used those particular ones is that they had the colors I wanted. If I could have, I would have used vitreous glass or even Sicis iridium--the transparent glass made problems for me that merely translucent glass would not have. Wish someone had told me that. REALLY difficult way to start doing tile for the first time ever in my life. Anyway, just google mosaic tile and you'll see a *marvelous* world out there
HA. I just had an idea. You could do the same thing, maybe even a better approximation, if you use *liner* tiles of different colors! Oy that's brilliant of me if I do say so myself
...liners are the little pencil-lined tiles, say 1/2x6 or 8?--you could just snip them in half and you'd have 1/2x3, or even in thirds-- that are used as the edges of decorative borders. Probably less expensive than the sicis, and you'd have the through-shape of the rectangle to work with rather than grout lines in between each square. WOW. I wish I knew then what I know now. that would have been so much easier.
Examples: See the second thing listed here:

Or pretty much go to any tile store and look on the sample boards. You could do them in stone or ceramic or even glass, maybe; you could get them in a few different colors (possibly from the same line--or if not, make sure they're the same thickness or you've opened a whole new set of problems) and make your own Zen blend!
Off to try to figure out where I can put this, since I've come up with it now
I love the Erin Adams stuff too but ouch. Take a look at these guys for glass mosaic. They have 1x3 as well as the 3/4. Make your own color mix. The 1x3's are $16.50 a sq ft. The catch is they are face mounted tile. (ie. paper on the front vs a mesh back) Tile guys ususally don't know how to use it or hate it because they can't see as well to line things up. Mine tried to install backwards in my shower. It's typically sold to mosiac artists not contractors.

Another cheap mosaic source is Mosaic Tile arts. $3.00 - $4.00 sq ft! but no 1x3, also face mounted.

For good quality mosaic tile in the $5-5.50 / sq ft range and meshed backed, check out:

No 1x3, but they have some really nice blends and gradients.
You can try Good Buy Tile! The offer nice discount glass tile mosaics and there prices aren't quite as high as places like anne sacks
. Prices definitely vary however whenever you do buy online so shop carefully!!
