I am a desperate man. I am considering installing a masonry heater in my house. The house is located in New York City. My architect is asking for MEA number (Material Equipment and Acceptance). He needs this information in order to get Certificate of occupancy.
If you could suggest any masonry heaters manufactures that might have this certification would greatly appreciate it
Thank you
i'm not exactly sure what a masonry heater is, but ummm...is it too much to expect your architect to find this for you or for him to consult his HVAC consultant/contact for this info?
the city building inspector/official may have a list of approved heaters OR your contractor might be of help if he has done anything similar...
Masonry heater is energy efficient fireplace. Energy from a short hot fire is stored in the thermal mass and can provide heat all day long. It is by far the cleanest way to burn cordwood.

If you go to the directory there are several masons and masonry stove vendors in NY who could probably help you.
