Contemporary Fireplace

Posted by Vikas Wadhwa at May 23. 2005

Anyone know places to get contemporary fireplaces?

Also, i live in a high rise, and doubt i can have real flames...know any alternatives?

Also, are there any contemporary fireplaces out there that you don't need to put in-the-wall?

Check out the Zircon -- looks like Darth Vader.

Really cool; why didn't I do this first?

The Heatnglo cyclone is cool...but for 7999.00 I better dig out my old ski mask and pistol to raise some hands and funds at the local bank.

Hmmm, maybe they slipped a decimel there. Then again, maybe you could pay as much for a fireplace as a Scion? It must surely be modern since it costs an arm and a leg.

Hmmmm, I think I might sell an organ for the Fireorb. It's not just cool looking, it's made really well, and it ROTATES!? How cool is that?!

click on UW BOLEY OPENHAARD then the categories below.

some interesting stuff here - but it all seems to be real fire. Also some very amusing 80's designs.

I think you are going to be settling for one of those electric bad boys from the home despot. I guess you can make a nice looking mdf box to go around it since there's no actual fire.

other design ideas (i've done some research in this area - most of the stuff is only in europe)

looks like you could get one of these in the US:

and build something cool around it.

That fireorb is sick as hell. That is exactly what I dream about in my future modernist dream house. For a while I didn;t realize that these were still being made, but it makes sense. I used to ebay for old units like this.

Hi all !

DAYORIS present a new line of modern and contemporary fireplaces from BLOMUS. These contemporary fireplaces work with ethanol, can heat up the room, and can be installed in a few minutes since no major construction is required.

The fireplace is easy to install. It requires some screws (for the wall mounted) and is ready to go! Some designs are even free standing.

These ethanol fireplaces are the modern touch that will add value to any home
