I am a glass artist and I paint glass. If you want to make your own
colored glass back splash, counter top or anything that requires back
painted glass. You need to buy this paint from
http://www.glassprimer.com this stuff is the best i have ever seen and
used. It is permanent and cheap! If you sandblast glass then paint it,
it will hold for a little but will never be permanent, and doesnt look
anywhere as good since the frosting kills the stunning color. .. You
see, glass is in-organic and hydrofolic, meaning it likes air moisture.
This attraction to air moisture undercuts any and all things coated on
the glass, even if its sandblasted. Glassprimer actually turns glass
into hdrofobic , or "water hating" making glass not attract moisture
anymore. This stuff is your answer... here is a table top I carved and
painted. I now offer this paint to my clients.

paint anything glass with http://www.glassprimer.com ... oh and for back spalshes, use 1/4" or 6mm glass with sanded or polished edges, only tempered behind stoves and hot areas. mount it with double sided tape and clear silicone glue.
*tip for getting over spray paint off the glass and of the edges after paint is dry: just rub it with real steel wool. no it wont scratch the glass.
painted glass counter tops should be 3/4" glass with ploished edges and mounted with clear silicone glue..

Do your homework before dealing with this guy! Close friend in Boca Raton had Chris paint some glass for him. Three months later the paint pealed off in spots and chris would neither refund the money or fix the problem. Maybe this is because he works out of his daddy's pest control company warehouse and does not have the proper facilities to paint anything! Check out his web-site. Notice most of the photos have european style outlets in the glass. Hmmm... Could it be he stole them off of the web and did not actually paint the glass in any of those photos??? Decide for yourselves but beware!!

The post above is completely mis led, The above post is completley out of line.
I remember this all so well. It happened over 1 year ago:
This glass was brought to my warehouse and painted by me personally. The customer impatiently had the glass installed the next day while the paint was still wet!! I said it shouldn't be done. The glass was installed with an oily mirror glue. The oily mirror glue bled into the wet paint causing the small areas of bond failure. PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL BACK PAINTED GLASS WHEN ITS NOT DRY. Feeling bad for the customer, I told the customer that i would strip the paint and re-paint it for him.... The customer said its ok, ill let you know in a week or 2... Well, I get a phone call over 1 year later! wanting it repainted. of course I said ok. Unfortunately it was left un-dealt with for so long that the paint wouldnt remove with any paint stripper (very good paint). The customer then wanted me to refund his money. This was left un-dealt with for way, way to long... This back painted glass was originally installed by the customers own installer against our quality control procedure.
The http://www.glassprimer.com is an incredible product hands down. If you question the bond please go to the site and order a sample of backpainted glass... see for your self how good it is...
http://www.glassprimer.com paint is internationally sold and our small
library of back painted glass pics come from these purchasers. Glassprimer™ has distributors in United States, Curacao, Honduras, Brazil, Isreal, India and United Kingdom
