Some of my favorite modern fonts:
Futura (love its proportions)
Gill Sans (very handsome - better for paragraphs of text than display)
Franklin Gothic (like a cooler helvetica)
Copperplate Gothic (very horizontal)
Optima (swells towards the end of strokes, almost like a serif)
Avant Garde (very geometric)
VAG Rounded (Volkswagen Auto Gruppe-circa 1940's)
Look at House Industries site as well for a bunch of interesting fonts.

Thought I would chime in with my pick (and my first post). Century Gothic - it's real clean with sharp lines. I'll attach a pic with your numbers.

Thanks everyone for the ideas, I like the Futura, backtalk sans is nice and I like the one that shofner posted above. Of cource my waterjet guy has none of the fonts I requested.
I will let you know the outcome.

I like ARCHITEXT, I used it for the #s on my mailbox...(and the logo for my business)
(sorry for the self promotion...but it was the fastest place I could find an example of the font to show you!)
If you search the free font sites you can see examples of the numbers, I tried to link directly to a picture of the #s, but it did not work...
Good luck!
