Fireplace location

I'm looking to install a hole-in-the-wall fireplace with no mantel or hearth but I'm not sure how high off the floor it should be. The fireplace will be in a living room so I was thinking it should be eye height when you’re sitting but when I draw that out on the wall it seems a bit high when you’re looking into the room.
Any suggestions?
