Hi
I am remodeling two bathrooms in a very contemporary townhouse in phoenix. I really need some help with the cabinets. I love NYloft style cabinets (nyloft.net), but they are too much with the shipping, and would not get here for 16 wks. anyway. I am torn between KRaftmaid Venicia at Expo and Ultracraft at Great Indoors. Is there a quality difference between the two? They are the same price. Are there any other contemp. cabinets along the line of NYLoft that would arrive in two months and are not exorbantly expensive? I love the wall hanging cabinets. Because I might have to sell this place in a few yrs., I dont want to get too crazy. But my realtor says I do need to stay contemporary...
The place was designed by Al Beadle, who worked with Frank Llyod Wright. Thanks for all of your advice!

As far as I can tell, Venecia and Ultracraft are pretty similar, except that Venecia is a newer product, while Ultracraft has always stuck to frameless cabinetry. I am a kitchen designer, and I sell a host of framed products, and sell frameless as the alternative (Annapolis, MD is a pretty traditional place, and not very open to framless cabinets). The hardware that Ultracraft uses is definitely on par with other semi-custom and full-custom cabinet lines, and therefore is a nice product. All-in-all, I'd say pick the line that has the finish/door options you like best, but Ultracraft definitely has a great warranty, so that could be a deciding factor. Best wishes on your project!
henrybuilt is more modern and berkeley mills are more arts and crafts but both are probably better for the house than veneica. that veneica cabinetry looks almost like ikea to me. it would be a shame to use that in a house with some arhitectural pedigree.
both are probably more expensive but also really a lot nicer than the others. and if you do sell soon it'll be worth having spent the extra money. i don't know about delivery time but never hurts to ask!

I'm not familiar with Berkely Mills, but Henrybuilt is quite pricey - nearly double what we're paying a local custom shop. I think Henrybuilt cabinets are like "heirloom quality" furniture in their construction, but that seems over the top to me. (For example we have cheapo builder grade cabinets from 1964 in our house, and aside from some hardware issues they've held up fine.)
hi jessie
you should look at berkley mills, they're beautiful.i didn't even think about the quality, I just thought those two might be good options because they look so good in that kind of house! if they're really heirloom quality that's an extra bonus! sure they're expensive, but you can't take it with you
