floating stair suggestions + cost

Posted by amber kennington at November 15. 2007

I'm looking at doing a "floating" stair (i.e. in the middle of the space not attached to or over any walls) in a house we're building.  If anyone has pictures of a stair like this that's done well in a modern, I'd love to see it, especially if you also know what it cost to build.  One I came across that I LOVE is in the photo below.  Thanks for any suggestions or insight.

the iron shop has a nice single stringer stair that is not too expensive.
