Selling a Paul McCobb dining room set

Posted by John Swanson at March 28. 2008

I need to sell a Paul McCobb dining room set that has two chairs and two leaves for the table.  It's quite lovely, although in need of repair.  The table needs to be refinished and the chairs are quite wobbly; a couple are very weak.

Any suggestions on how to sell this furniture?  Thanks!

Hi John,

I just found your comment tonight.  I actually called a place in Philadelphia that sold this kind of furniture to see if they would be interested.  The owners gave me an estimate over the phone, then came out and took it and paid me on the spot.  I felt it was a fair price -  much better than trying to sell it on Ebay and without the uncertainty of going through an auction house.  I would look for a store that sold mid-century furniture in your area and give them a call if you haven't sold it already.

Good luck!

Lois
