CA BOOM was a CA BUST!

Well, that's my opinion, at least. Last year there was a definite vibe in the building, the kind of vibe where you felt like you were part of something that was finally breaking through - it was special and exciting! This year, I'd say there were probably 2/3rds of the vendors that were there last year, and a lot of them were not showing anything particularly fascinating. Now, granted, some of the folks who were exhibiting last year and were again there this year lost the Wow! factor they had in their debut. And I appreciate the oppportunity CA BOOM gives one-man or small company artisans - especially the woodworkers - to show there stuff in a setting that they otherwise wouldn't be able to, normally. I appreciate that CleverHomes was there, and Sunniva was very helpful in answering our questions. The Aero 11 prefab steel building was there and it was good to see that in person. The Modern Shed display was cool, too. But I sure miss the buzz of last year. I'd like to hear other's opinions on the show.....

I thought that might be the case and that's exactly why I didn't go (see post in other CaBoom thread).
It's one thing to go to the L.A. Modernism show, because even though it's the same vendors year in and year out, at least they always have all-new stuff to show.
I'd be curious to know how attendance was v. last year.
