Architect Needed for Remodel

Posted by David Pokress at June 07. 2005

Exremely frustrated that I can't find an architect willing to take on a job that is anything less than a complete ground up construction project. I would like to remodel my existing house by adding a master suite and gut the kitchen. Not huge but not small either.

Anyone know of someone that they could recommend? Any ideas how to entice someone to take on a smaller job?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear of your frustrations. I am an architect located in the San Diego area. I do remodels as well as new construction. I'll send my contact info if you would like to discuss the project.

I am an architect in Venice and your project does not sound un-interesting. A small project with someone who is looking for quality design can be desirable. I would happy to discuss with you.

We were going to remodel our kitchen and talked to an architect who designed one of the homes for the AIA tour in Venice recently. He seemed really nice and approachable and did not seem put off by the fact that we had only a small kitchen remodel. His name is Vaughn Trammell, and his website is: www.vtrammell.com. We ended up not doing the remodel after all, but I thought I'd pass his name along.
