Teak dining room in Sevierville

Posted by Anneli Jarvel at October 12. 2005

I just returned from Tennessee, where my Danish mother has moved into assisted living. We have a large teak dining table with sideboard and 8 chairs which my parents bought in San Francisco in the early 1970s. The set has been put in temporary storage in Sevierville, but we'd like find it a good home. I live in Canada and already own a whole house full of teak (including, unbelievably, 3 dining tables), otherwise I would take the set myself. I'd love to hear from anyone who is either interested in it or can suggest someone who deals in mid-century modern furniture in the East Tennessee area.

Hi, I just moved to Nashville and we are looking for a dining table. Would love to see a photo of table and chairs.

Hi Lee,

I've just returned to Canada from TN. I was hoping to forstall him by finding a local buyer, but because both my brother and I are both from out-of-state, he's now taken the set to an auctioneer in the Knoxville area who isgoing to handle the sale for us. I'm waiting to hear back from him about the details, so when I do I can forward that info to you. I'm guessing the auction agent will post a photo on Ebay, but not sure at this point. I stupidly didn't think to take a picture while there. The sideboard and table are in excellent condition, but the upholstery on the chairs definitely needs replacing.
