Looking for something modern/interesting and less than $120. Anybody have a good source for modern outdoor lighting? So far, www.lampsplus.com is the only place I've found.
Thanks,
SL
If you like the look, try vapor-tight fixtures. These are the glass jars with aluminum cages around them, They run about $32-$35 a piece.

Replying to myself... Went to a local lighting store- discovered 2 sites: www.accesslighting.com and www.hinkleylighting.com which both have some fun lights. Still no big source though...
I agree, i've been looking for exterior wall-mount lighting and nearly everything I've found is unacceptable, even the so-called modern types. There are lots of seriously weird lamps like [url href=http://www.lampsplus.com/htmls/search/searchlist.asp?SKU=09017CustID=20050509222832776SID=37090005CP=All+Products%2F%2F%2F%2FUserSearch%3DAVAILABLEONLINE%2F%2F%2F%2FAttribSelect%3DCategory+%3D+%27OUTDOOR+LIGHTING%27%2F%2F%2F%2FAttribSelect%3DType+%3D+%27Wallmount+Type%27p=22EASESSION=JSESSIONID=60eiaf6lqmch0RPP=16]this one that are masquerading as modern.
The best I could come up with were these:

I also have to mention that Ikea has a nice outdoor lamp as well.
i imagine these are pricey, but very cool nonetheless:

Depending on the look of your place, Ikea has a couple options for very, very cheap. Like $7 cheap.

I found some great deals on www.ylighting.com. I also saw (but didn't purchase) some not so great deals on the site. Their website is easy to navigate compared to many out there. Their customer service was also very prompt and informative.
Lowes used to have a really nice looking modern fixture. I haven't seen it on their website lately though. The fools probably pulled it from their lineup. The last time that I saw it at the store, i seriously thought about buying some of them to use on my own house in the future.
I'll tell you one thing. The selection of good looking modern exterior fixtures is quite poor.
p.s. How in the world does a person post photos on this forum? Am I not tech savvy? I have a photo of this fixture and would love to post it.
Hi again-
After a lot of searching I decided to go with www.baselite.com. It was not quick and easy to order from them- required going through a rep because I live in a town without a store that carries them. They are clearly not used to random home-owners ordering, but they were nice. I recommend getting a real catalog. Lots of color/style options. A lot of them are a bit industrial but, the price wasn't bad - one was $110, another $145 for those that I got. I hope that they get their act together to create a website that we could order from directly.
Hi once again-
I have determined that Baselite may be the most disorganized company on the planet. A month later, and my lights have not shipped (they promised I'd have them within 7 days). The lights might be cool, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I may complain to the Better Business Bureau.
This has been a warning.

I tried contacting Baselite after I saw your post. I agree, they were very hard to reach and very disorganized in terms of obtaining information. I also thought that the dimensions of their lamps were a little too large for my application. Nice lamps though.
Good luck with your shipment.
If you like the baselight stuff you might also like Abolite:

You can try lamplamobler.com, just to be a looky-loo. Nothing there's within your budget, though.
I also had some difficulty finding exactly what I wanted. My architect came up with a fairly simple bent sheet metal enclosure for a regular cheapo fixture. The material is simply perforated stainless steel.
For some reason, this is not giving me the option to upload a pic, otherwise I would add a pic of that detail.
For outdoor lighting like the dingbat lights on mid-century apartment buildings.

After much searching, I have been happy with this light.

Hey Sam! You can also try this comparison shopping site that cater home lighting and light fixtures. They have nice but affordable outdoor lights here. And good thing here is you can compare prices from different known brands.
the lights come like that . it is called dual or double action. they will come on as dim but when movement occurs they get brighther . they have a setting on them.. you can try to get sensors for the existing lights but they just wire in. the actual control for this dual feature is on the light itself Apartment Rentals
Check out here about outdoor lighting.
