Bosch vs Siemens

Posted by Mauro Sanchez at August 19. 2005

><br>

We planned to purchase the Bosch Electric Range:

In a recent flyer I received from Future Shop (Canadian - Owned by BestBuy) I see that Siemens has the same looking stove at a savings of $200 plus a $300 in store coupon.

Does anyone now if this is the same product with 2 different names? Anyone have experience with a Siemens stove?

While they are similar, they certainly don't look like the same stove to me. Look at the knobs on the front of the Siemens, and the layout of the back panels on both.

Hi Steve,

I guess I was a little misleading with the first picture. I think the 1st stove must be a european model. The Bosch here in Canada has the knobs in the front as well. I noticed that after posting the pictures.

It seems that they are one and the same:

I was looking for something like this but couldn't find it. Thanks for posting it. I guess it just comes down to the name in the front.

Well, I can't say much for the range, as we havent purchased a new range yet, but a few months ago we bought a siemens dishwasher. It stinks.
We had an inexpensive euro style unit in the last house, and this one doesnt even compare at nearly twice the price.
Grrr. Many times the dishes arent clean, and because it doesnt heat the dishes to dry them, if we leave them overnight, they smell funny. I find I use it less and less.
next time, I will get the bosch.
