bent plywood chairs

Posted by Jim Meehan at August 12. 2007

I'm looking for some bent plywood dining chairs.  Specifically the style with chrome legs and the seat/back made from a single piece of bent plywood.  So far I've found these:

Those are pretty reasonably priced.  I know I've seen others out there though with various shapes in the same price range.  I just can't seem to find them at the moment.

Anyone have any useful links?

Thanks,

Hi Jim, Those are pretty reasonable. They are Arne Jacobsen Series 7 chairs--uh repros or homages as you prefer. West Elm makes a t-shape one and one they call scoop back $99 I'm sure there others but none as cheap as $59 on ebay. http://www.westelm.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?partNumber=WE-PRODp074&storeId=17001&langId=-1&catalogId=17002&viewSetCode=E&parentId=WE-SH1FRNDCB&retainNav=true&cmsrc=WE-SH1FRNDCB

I think they call that a butterfly chair. Target usually has some. A quick search found these:

Look up Fritz Hansen (manufacturer) Arne Jacobsen (designer) Series 7

I think DWR carries Fritz Hansen; Ikea, West Elm, Crate and Barrel or CB2 (Crate and Barrel modern), Room and Board might have some "inspired"/"in the manner of" chairs

I have two but I'm in Dallas Texas. They are not from Target they are orginals and dated 1970. I'm going to place them on Ebay unless I can sell them to someone.
If you are interested let me know, the one's I have look just like the one in the picture. mxp1
